Sander de Roos grew up on a dairy farm in Lopik, the Netherlands, and studied Animal Breeding and Genetics at Wageningen University. After some years in R&D at his current employer, cattle breeding company CRV, he completed a PhD thesis entitled ‘Genomic selection in dairy cattle’. Sander’s current position is Global Director Genetics, which oversees CRV’s breeding programs and semen supply chain. Sander is member of the Management Board of EuroGenomics, a European consortium of cooperative cattle breeding organizations, and chairman of the Board of Breed4Food, a genetics research consortium of multispecies animal breeding companies with Wageningen University.
