Sander de Roos grew up on a dairy farm in Lopik, the Netherlands, and studied Animal Breeding and Genetics at Wageningen University. After several years working in R&D at his current employer, the cattle breeding company CRV, he completed a PhD thesis entitled “Genomic Selection in Dairy Cattle.”

He currently holds the position of Global Director Genetics, overseeing CRV’s breeding programs and semen supply chain. Sander is a member of the Management Board of EuroGenomics, a European consortium of cooperative cattle breeding organizations, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Breed4Food, a genetics research consortium involving multispecies animal breeding companies and Wageningen University.
