Owen Willems is the Global Director of R&D and Innovation at Hendrix Genetics and is a member of both the company’s Leadership Committee and Leadership Team. In this role, he and his teams drive genetic improvement initiatives in areas such as quantitative genetics, genomics, and digital phenotyping.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics, as well as an MSc and PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics, all from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada). Since 2011, Owen has worked in various roles within the turkey, swine, and layer businesses of Hendrix Genetics.
