Since 2006, straight after finishing my PhD, I have been involved in several projects on genomic prediction that laid the foundation for Breed4Food. As such, I have been involved as a researcher, with a strong focus on model and software development, in Breed4Food since its beginning in 2012. In later years, I became the project leader of one of the Breed4Food projects, and leader of the theme “Utilizing DNA information” in the second phase of Breed4Food. Today, I am the leader of work package 4 (“Optimizing genomic breeding programs”), and the program leader of Breed4Food. In that capacity I join the Working Group meetings.
