Hans Olijslagers

Hans is currently a Board member of Breed4Food and served as its Chairman in the past. As a Board, they provide strategic direction to the consortium and support the manager in decision-making.

With a strong belief that breeding is about looking ahead, Hans has been involved in integrating sustainability into breeding goals for over 15 years, including the introduction of balanced breeding and traits such as vitality, social behavior, and disease resistance. While incorporating these traits can challenge progress in economically important areas, he sees clear value in this long-term approach.

He views sustainable pig production as a global trend and takes pride in contributing to breeding programs that support this transition. Hans values the role of Breed4Food in this context and appreciates the collaboration within the consortium.
