The IMAGEN program aims to facilitate the transition towards sustainable livestock production by addressing the social behaviours of animals in groups, which will improve the health and welfare of the animals and reduce the ecological footprint of our food production.
Recent advances in sensing technologies, artificial intelligence (AI) and genomics provide radical new opportunities to address this issue. IMAGEN is a cross-over program combining the development of sensing, AI and data technologies with research and technology developments in animal sciences, while addressing the ethical aspects of our innovations. Participating partners of Breed4Food are Hendrix Genetics, Topigs Norsvin and Wageningen University & Research.
